The U10s, an excited group of players ranging from Year 3 to Year 6, played six games at Cheddar Valley's home pitch on Sunday morning. With most playing their first ever competitive matches there were a few nerves but the first game against Chard saw the team grow in confidence especially when Alicia scored with a strong shot past the keeper. After a melee in front of goal the ball agonisingly found its way over the Bridgwater goal line past the defence for a 1-1 final score.

The next game against Taunton Civil Service A team showed how the group had 'grown' with Will and Alfie linking well and Harry worth his weight in gold as he made tackle after tackle. A last minute goal took TCS into a 2-1 lead but the team could see they had played some good hockey.

Against Yeovil the play was wider with Alicia and Poppy scoring five between them as Jorja and Alfie distributed the ball strongly from the back. Another draw against TCS B team saw Sasha and Naz fight hard to drive the ball forward with Fred in goal keeping brilliantly to stop the strong TCS shots.

In game 5 against Yeovil B, a tired Bridgwater saw good possession but Bridgwater attack couldn't quite convert all chances.

In the last game against Taunton Vale everyone worked hard - Jorja and Harry positioned well; Will ran hard to make it difficult for the Taunton players to get into shooting positions; Fred cleared strongly from goal; Naz, Poppy and Sasha pushed forward making tackles in the attacking end and Alicia and Alfie forced several saves from the Taunton keeper. This final game ended in a fair but goalless draw.
