Playing their first game and with many making their first appearance for the club, the ladies 3rds started energetically against a strong Taunton Civil Service side. Despite positive attacking play from Tracey Gue and Talia Trunks on the right and Gwen Thomas in the middle, TCS were able to break away to beat the Bridgwater defence, placing the ball past Sam Mirto in goal. With play flowing from end to end Bridgwater were unable to take their opportunities unlike the TCS centre forward who used her speed and accuracy to score another 3 goals before half time. Bridgwater started the second half in the same spirit as the first , with Kath Briggs, Steph Parsons and Ellie Coleman making significant contributions in attack. TSC kept the Bridgwater defence busy but solid work from Bridget Hedaux, Lydia Helmsley, Hannah Bremner and Linda Hay prevented any further score until close to the end of the game when TSC found a way through to add another.
A very promising start for the team with everyone putting in a huge amount of effort. Player of the match was shared by Talia Trunks and Gwen Thomas.
