Game day saw the Ladies 3s travel to Tiverton. It was anticipated to be a feisty game, and it didn’t disappoint.
Bridgwater started strong, working hard from the whistle to drive the ball forwards, aiming for goal. Tiverton held us off for a while, but an early injury for Bridgwater meant we were a player down. A strong run from Phe broke through the Tiverton defence, giving us our first goal. The midfield fought hard, with Sue C dominating the centre, setting up Shannon for our second goal. A short corner for Bridgwater was beautifully hit by Ellie taking us to 3-0 at half time.
The second half began quick, with Tiverton fighting back and managing to get a goal. But Bridgwater quickly reset, with midfields Ellie, Katie, Sue C and Hannah B pressing forward, and MOTM Linda was perfectly placed to score our fourth goal. A game of double firsts for Captain Linda; playing upfront and scoring her first goal! Some great defending from Jenny, Rachel and Meg kept Tiverton at bay, and the win was secured by Shannon delivering a stunning penalty flick, ending the game at 5-1
