The Ladies’ 3’s travelled to Taunton Vale for a game we knew would be challenging.
Play was end to end and both teams fought hard. Bridgwater kept tight and some great marking from the defence of Meg, Linda, Hannah, Julie and Jenny kept Vale out. However, Vale’s persistence paid off and a couple of strong strikes saw them go 2-0 up at half time.
Bridgwater didn’t give up and continued to hassle the Vale defence and goalie through some lovely play up the sidelines between mid-fielders Sue, Katie, Hannah, Nat and Jenny and the forwards of Kath, Bev and Phe. Although unable to convert the chances on goal, Bridgwater didn’t let up and definitely did not make it easy for Vale and, with Sue’s impressive goalkeeping, managed to keep Vale out until they finally scored another goal.
Both sides agreed it was a thoroughly good game and very even despite the loss for Bridgwater. The spread of motm votes across the team showed how well everyone played as a team. A very positive game all in all. Congratulations to Hannah B who was the very well-deserved motm.
