Bridgwater travelled to Weston for a late start to the season, but at least we started to play a game of hockey.

Things started well for BWHC as they didn’t concede straight up. Alex McNeil, Dan Buller, Luke Otley and temp keeper Graham Miller kept Bridgwater in the game with some great blocks and tackles. Weston looked very determined to score and where outplaying BWHC in all areas. Kristian West, Kieran Barrow and Steve Wilson held the middle of the park together with Harvey Larcombe and Oscar West on the wings. Steve Turvey and Aaron Turner started upfront but ended up coming back to try get past the Weston high press.

It was 0-0 and Weston all over BWHC but Miller was on fine form making save after save in his backwards kit. Steve Morrish came onto the pitch to replace an injured Buller with Liam Barrow at LB and James Harmer up top.

Weston just kept on bashing at the goal and finally got their reward when they scored a short. Then they scored again quickly but BWHC came close through Turvey and Turner.

The wet game started again in the second half as BWHC looked to contain Weston, but it was becoming far harder as short after short bombarded the goal and Miller made some spectacular saves.

But then the heavens opened and the pitch became flooded as the ball stopped on the pitch. But play continued and a suprising amount of time was left on the clock. Despite BWHC best efforts and a flick being saved 4 second half goals were conceded.
