Bridgwater 2s took an early trip down the road to take on Burnham. A local derby on the cards this was going to be a cracker. Bridgwater started the game slow allowing Burnham to take full advantage of the match and be in control pushing Bridgwater back into their own half . With Bridgwater half asleep Burnham went ahead. This was the wake up call Bridgwater needed, with the help of Sheila on the side line and some changes from the subs Bridgwater started to play, passing and moving in triangles hunting down an equaliser. The pressure from Bridgwater soon found Clare passing the ball to Grace and Grace slotting the ball past the keeper just before half time. All square and a great talk from Claire and Sheila made sure Bridgwater shook off the poor first half performance to bed and start the second half fresh. From the start Bridgwater began to hustle which found Clare tackling the last defender and passing the ball to Abbie to be 1 on 1 with the goalie and scoring. Being ahead was cut short with Burnham finding an equaliser soon after. Bridgwater hungry for the win Tara found Jess who flicked the ball into the back of the net. On top Bridgwater had to defend to the final whistle with some great tackles made by the team. With some questionable umpire decisions and an intense game from the first whistle Bridgwater was able to keep pushing and grab those 3 points and move our way to third in the table. MOTM went to Abbie for her goal and work rate throughout the game. Next week we take on top of the table Exe 3 at home where Bridgwater look to put on a top performance in hope to grab some more points and unsettle a so far dominant Exeter side.
