Just before 4 in Taunton the local rival match began . The game started very slowly for both teams . Un4tunately for Bridgwater , Vale struck first for 0-1 . It wasn’t long be4 Bridgwater got back into the game , kit hockey providing the pass to James Garner , who span behind the defender to cross 4 Rich Payne to prod the ball home 1-1. The game then drifted for a while and is usually 4 a local derby the tempo was low . Vale struck again before half time to make it 1-2 at the break . After a 4 minute half time the game got underway . Some strange decisions led to Vale getting a short corner which they despatched for 1-3 . Ben Rigg was making some good saves to keep the visitors in the game and a good move through Paul Bond and Connor Neal led to Rich Payne breaking through the defender and beating the keeper for 2-3 . 4 minutes later Bridgwater struck again , good play from Steve Wilson , who passed to Kit Hockey , who’s high shot was illegally stopped and a penalty flick was awarded after 4 minutes of consultation by the umpires . Rich Payne stepped up and slotted home is the bottom corner for his and Bridgwater’s third .
A strange passage of play next as Brandon Durkin ran through 4 players crossed for James Garner who’s shot was again stopped on the line by a foot only for the ball to run along the goal line and then be hit wide by a combination of James and Kit , no goal and no flick or card was awarded . Bridgwater kept pressing though and we’re finally rewarded in the last minute of the game . Some nice play across the D , found Rich Payne who smashed home on his reverse for 4-3 . Mike Morrish , Danny Rogers and Steve Pigden battled to keep Vale at bay and Bridgwater came away in the end with a deserved victory .

Man of the match was a joint affair with Ben Rigg and Rich Payne sharing the spoils
