Rawles rules the roost and Coleman grabs his goal!

The men’s 1s had an interesting penultimate game to the season - they defeated 8-man City of Bath 11-0 to all but guarantee a 3rd place finish for the second season in a row. The game started with Bridgwater playing too timidly, and unwilling to risk too much to break the deadlock. With a 3 man advantage, however, the pressure was always going to tell eventually - and captain Duncan Morrish put his side 2-0 up with 2 short corners in quick succession. The goals then dried up for a short period, until a well struck finish from Tom Stacey and 2 more from Jordan Rawles made it 5-0 at half time.
Bridgwater pushed with more gusto in the second half and committed all but 1 man forward for much of the game - keeper Pete Saunders having little to do, but staying alert and making key saves when called upon. It was Jordan Rawles who bagged the first goal of the second half and rounded off his hat trick, with Tom Lott scoring 1 and Ash Woolmington grabbing 2. Another short corner finish from D Morrish gave him his hat trick, with Rawles then finishing another perfectly to ensure he ended on 4 for the game, and bringing Bridgwater into double figures. Young forward Tyler Coleman then won his side a penalty flick - taking the responsibility upon himself, he stepped up and put the ball beyond the keeper’s reach to round off the win and finish the scoring - his first goal for the first team!
Player of the match was shared between Jordan Rawles for his goal scoring blitz and Tyler Coleman for his skill through the game and well deserved goal.
