BRIDGWEATER DOMINATE IN HOME WIN AGAINST MINEHEAD!

Bridgwater 1s kept their unbeaten season going with an emphatic home win against Minehead!

As the 1s have done all season, they started strong, pressed extremely well from the front and kept Minehead in their own half. Bridgwater opened the scoring within 5 minutes, goal coming from midfielder, Sam Uminski. It wasn't long until Uminski added Bridgwater's second, scoring only a few minutes later he was able to dribble his way through the Minehead defence and slot it past the keeper.

The away side scored their only goal of the game through a short corner, slipping the ball to a player on the left hand side who was able to sweep the ball over the defence and into the top of the goal.

This didn't put the heads down of the inform home side, this only spurred them onto score more goals and work even harder. Scoring another two more goals before the end of the half, Bridgwater's third goal coming from inform goal scorer Tom Lott, picking up the ball outside the D and dribbling around the defence and slotting it low and hard into the bottom corner. The final goal of the half coming from former 1st team skipper, Duncan Morrish, who dribbled with great pace and speed into the left side of the D and struck a hard, clean reverse hit past the away teams keeper. This goal putting the home side in a great position at the halfway mark, being 4-1 up.

The start of the second half started the same as the home side finished the first; the forwards pressing hard from the front and pinning Minehead back into the own half, not letting them get the ball up the pitch. This was also down to the excellent work of Bridgwater midfielder, Paul Tilley, intercepting any pass Minehead tried to do and pressed hard to ensure his side kept the ball in away teams half.

Lott added his second goal of the game through a short corner, receiving the ball at the top of the D, dragging the ball to the left side of the D around the first and second runners, opened his body up to see that post players and keeper have all strayed off the goal leaving it wide open for him to push the ball into an open goal. Lott sealed his hattrick in a carbon copy fashion to his previous goal, he received the ball at the top of the D from a short corner and doing the same as before, dribbling around both runners and slotting it into an open Minehead goal. This sealing his hattrick and putting the home side 6-1 up with 25 minutes still to play.

Bridgwater added their seventh goal of the game, once again it was Lott that was the scorer, finding himself one on one with keeper, trying to slide the ball under the diving keeper, the keeper getting the finest of touches as the ball goes under him, not enough though to prevent the ball from landing in front of Lott who was able to slot the ball into an empty net, scoring his forth and final goal of the game.

The home side finished of the game with another short corner goal, Charles Grossey being the scorer. Using his drag flicking practise to good use, flicked the ball low and hard to the keepers right hand side, the speed and power of the ball was to much and the ball smashed against the backboard.

Bridgwater record their third win in a row and remain unbeaten in the league with 10 points from four games and are currently second in the league, two points behind unbeaten ISCA. Next weekend is the half term weekend so all teams have no fixtures, but when the 1s return the week after they travel to Bristol to face Firebrands, who are currently sitting midtable.
