Ladies 2s tool the short trip to Taunton this week.
The game started with both teams looking even,trying to get used to an extremely bouncy pitch! Bridgwater pressed high from the start and won an early short corner. Cheryl Notaro Livingstone scored her first of the match with a straight strike.
Bridgwater stepped off the pace in the following 10 minutes allowing Vale to put them under pressure, conceding a short corner. Vale took this opportunity to level the score.
Bridgwater began to play better and with some great link work between defender Josie Loxton, midfielders Miche Ruse and Clare Wilson they quickly moved the ball up the pitch to Abbie Steven's who calmly slotted the ball past the vale keeper.
Bridgwater continued to keep pressing high on the vale defence seeing Cheryl go on the score 2 more goals getting her hat trick before half time.
The second half saw Bridgwater up their game and on the hunt for more goals. It didn't take long before they were rewarded for their efforts with another goal from Cheryl,knocking the ball over the line after the keeper missed it. Holly Hobbs was next to get her name on the score sheet with a strong drive into the D and hitting the ball under the keepers foot.
Hannah Bremner started the attack for the next goal driving from the halfway line and passing the ball into Danni Morgan who swept the ball hitting the backboard again.
Cheryl scored the final goal of the game with a good team effort passing the ball around the vale players,Cheryl put the ball in the net from a tight angle.
With the final score seeing Bridgwater win 8-1 this improved their goal difference in the league to keep them in that top spot.
Next week the ladies 2s face 3rd in the table Civil Service 2s.
