Bridgwater 2nd XI 0 Taunton Civil Service 2nd XI 1

Bridgwater started the game today with more energy than they have for a few weeks, driving forward from their push back.
Bridgwater had some good attacking play, using the wingers Abbie Steven's, Holly Hobbs and Tracy Gue well. With some great crosses being played into the D Bridgwater just couldn't get onto the end of them to test the Civil Service keeper.
Civil Service were quick to attack on the counter but man of the match Rachel Higgs did a fantastic job not letting anything past her for most of the game.
Danni Morgan came the closest to giving Bridgwater the lead with the ball being worked quickly up the pitch into Danni whose shot just shaved the post.
With the half time score at 0-0 Bridgwater were confident they could claim the 3 points from the game.
Again Bridgwater started the second half strong, hunting the ball from the civil service players and winning the ball back with some excellent tackling. Unfortunately Bridgwater conceded a short corner about 10 minutes into the half. Civil Service took this chance to take the lead with a shot going through some Bridgwater players and dribbling over the line.
Bridgwater didnt let this get them down and looked determined to score. A few minutes later they found themselves in a goal line scramble at the other end of the pitch but they just couldn't get the ball over the Civil Service line.
Bridgwater continued to press the Civil Service and had a number of chances that just didnt go their way today.
A frustrating 1-0 loss for the ladies 2s today but everyone put in 100%, the ladies now go into next weeks game against minehead 2s determined to win their last 2 games of the season.
Man of the match was well deserved by Rachel Higgs who put in a solid defensive display today.
