After a resounding win last week, the men’s 1s went into their first home game full of confidence, but wary of a side who were only 1 of 2 to inflict defeat on them last year.
Despite this wariness, it was the home side who took the lead - after only 15 seconds, Ash Woolmington has dispatched the ball into the net! Bridgwater looked good value for their lead, and even after conceding an equalise, Woolmington bagged his 2nd to put Bridgwater 2-1 up. The vital 3rs goal evaded them, however - and Buccs grew into and started to dominate the game - bagging 2 goals to go into half time 3-2 up.
The second half ebbed and flowed and neither side could grab the goal they were seeking in the ally exchanges; Buccs, however, grabbing their 4th with 15 minutes of the half to go. Perhaps spurring Bridgwater on, they started to attack with real endeavour - Woolmington bagged his hat trick, and Paul Tilley expertly finished with 2 minutes left to complete the fight back at 4-4; had there been more time on the clock, Bridgwater may have even taken the win.
Player of the match was shared between hat trick hero Woolmington and superb shot stopper Pete Saunders.
