More of a Lumber Jack Competition at Times...

After mixed results last weekend, Bridgwater 3s travelled to Firebrands who after a similar season sat right above them in the league.
Bridgwater unfortunately started the game slowly with Firebrands looking more hungry for the game and result, with plenty of pressing and quite a few opportunities it was fortunate that the 3s keeper, Brandon Durkin, whilst having to change his game to a more upright style was in outstanding form. However Firebrands did manage to get their first goal, after getting in behind the defence and a barrage of stopped shots, they finally managed to get one in.
This goal seemed to wake Bridgwater up, who instantly began to press higher, work more solidly as a team and made light work of the opposition's defence forcing the Firebrands keeper to make plenty of saves. 3s managed to finally get what they deserved with a solid pass through multiple Firebrands players, finding Kieran Spottiswoode who comfortably slotted it past the keeper. Bridgwater continued with the momentum and possession, continuing to take the opportunities provided finding themselves another goal through Steve Turvey and finishing the first 35 minutes 2-1 up.
The half wasn't without its controversies though, with high sticks and a ridiculous amount of 'stick tackles' being 'missed'. The frustration began to build going into the halftime break.
3s started the 2nd half a lot stronger than the 1st, consistently challenging the Firebrands defence, if not for the Firebrands keeper and a few shots going wide 3s could have found themselves with a more comfortable lead. With the Lumber Jack Competition continuing from the 1st half and Firebrands finding a new burst of energy near the end of the game, 3s conceded a short corner which the opposition converted, giving the final score of 2-2.
Man of the Match this week went to Dan Stone with 4 votes, joint 2nd place went to Danny Rogers and Sam Stacey with 3 each.
