Bridgwater 3s hosted a Westbury side that in the previous meeting saw the opposition grab a last minute win, Bridgwater this time were looking to make amends.
The game unfortunately did not start as planned, as other then a missed opportunity in the first minute, Bridgwater were slow to start for the first 15 minutes and were made to pay as Westbury took the lead, and continued to press and put Bridgwater under pressure. The defence and goalkeeper managed to keep conceded goals at 1. Bridgwater managed to finally get their first goal and began to take control of the game. Although Westbury did grab a couple breaks in play, they were unable to convert. Bridgwater also had some more opportunities saved, but were able to find the back of the opposition's net a further 2 times, giving a half time score line of 3-1.
After a half time talk about keeping possession and moving as a team, Bridgwater started a lot stronger showing a renewed fight and created multiple opportunities to score. Whilst some of these were missed and quite a few saved, 3s continued to push the Westbury defence, finally getting their deserved rewards. Managing to score another 5 goals, giving a final score of 8-1. Westbury did have a couple breaks of play near the end of the game, trying to alter this score.
Goals were scored by 5 different players: 2 goals a piece for Steve Turvey, Tom Willis and Aaron Turner, and 1 each to Conor Neal and Nikita Cernikovs.
